3M History

Here, our history inspires your future.

More than a century ago, 3M started as a small-scale mining venture in Northern Minnesota, then named Minnesota Mining and Manufacturing Company. Now a global powerhouse, our products improve the daily lives of people around the world.

But our success and longevity were not apparent from the start. We tried. We failed. We tried something new. Repeat cycle. Innovation and perseverance drove our founders, and it continues to drive 3Mers today.

From Humble Beginnings to Fortune 500

When 3M began in 1902, our five founders had a simple goal: to mine for corundum, a mineral ideal for making sandpaper and grinding wheels. Turns out, what they thought was corundum was really another low-grade mineral called anorthosite.

Discovering the poor-quality mineral could have caused an early end to our fledgling company, but our founders persisted. Why? Because something more important was born that first year: the spirit of innovation and collaboration that forms the foundation of 3M today. So instead of calling it quits, we turned to different materials, applied them to other products, gained the trust of important investors and built up sales little by little.

Scientific, technical and marketing innovations produced success upon success over the years, eventually making 3M a constant name on the Fortune 500 list. Today, more than 60,000 3M products are used in homes, businesses, schools, hospitals and other industries. One third of our sales come from products invented within the past five years, thanks to innovations from the thousands of researchers and scientists we employ around the world.

With corporate operations in 70 countries and sales in 200, we are committed to creating the technology and products that advance every company, enhance every home and improve every life.

Founded 1998, Lone Wolf Distributors easily established itself as the leading Glock accessory supplier. Our QC starts with mill run quantities of raw materials. Our in-house engineers utilize CAD design exploiting exacting CNC tolerance control at all manufacturing levels. Our dynamic website displays real time, accurate inventory control allowing the vast majority of orders to process and ship the same day. Our customers demand premium upgrades that allow them increased performance. For these reasons LWD is unquestionably recognized as your best source for reasonably priced replacement parts.

At SilencerCo we take pride in the products we design and develop. SilencerCo is dedicated to creating products that will improve sound reduction levels, durability and longevity, form and function, ease of use and maintenance in ways never thought of or achieved. Our customers aren’t just customers, they are gun enthusiast, shooters and hunters just like us. We share your passion.

Our dedication to authenticity has never wavered since the birth of SilencerCo in 2008. We continue to strive for exceptional customer service and to create industry-leading products but that's not enough. Our product is ever-changing, ever-improving, and is crafted by people with the utmost dedication to our industry and what lies ahead.

There's a long and exciting road in front of us, and we look forward to working together to Fight The Noise.

orn and bred in the mountains of the American West, SilencerCo started life when two men in a garage machined, welded, and shaped their dreams into reality. They had one core belief: Guns don’t have to be loud.

Since our beginning in 2008, SilencerCo has grown to produce more silencers than anyone else in the market. Our secret is simple – we care.

We care about each silencer leaving our facility. We care about the shooters and their hearing. We care about our employees, and we care about our role in the American economy.

We’re shooters, too – and we know how hard it can be to find durable equipment that performs. Our silencers have been shot, stripped, torqued, and blasted – and we constantly search for ways to make them quieter, more durable, lighter, and shorter.

SilencerCo sets the standard for quality and innovation – because in the end, that’s all that matters. We created the first non-round pistol silencer with the Osprey, the quietest and easiest cleaning rimfire silencer with the Sparrow, the only commercially-viable, fully-modular shotgun silencer in existence with the Salvo 12, and now the first integrally suppressed 9mm pistol that is holsterable and hearing safe with all factory ammunition – the Maxim 9.

We take pride in the products we produce and the innovation we deliver to you, our customer. We look forward to what the future holds as SilencerCo continues to strive for greater sound suppression and breakthroughs in what was previously considered possible.

All pistol suppressors require a threaded pistol barrel. SilencerCo noticed a market need for high quality pistol barrels and we stepped in to offer them. Holding to the same commitment to quality as all of our products, the threaded barrels are tough enough to hold up under the harshest conditions. Made of 416R stainless steel and finished in black nitride (some models remain stainless). For use with a pistol silencer, you will also need a piston (sold separately)*

SilencerCo threaded barrels come with a thread protector.

*The Glock 43 barrel comes with a 1/2 X 28 piston designed specifically for use with the 43 barrel. This unique piston will also work with all other 9mm pistols threaded 1/2 X 28.
